Course Description

Organizations have long utilized the "exit interview" as a method for gleaning information on how to improve employee retention and correct challenges that might be leading to turnover. A more pro-active approach developed by Richard Finnegan involves conducting regular "stay interviews" with employees to identify critical pain points before they leave the organization. Stay Interviews are structured, individual interviews that are completed with employees to help leaders identify what is working (i.e., why employees stay), understand what their employees value, and take realistic steps to improve their employees' work experiences. These interviews have been practiced within the business industry for over a decade, and they can be utilized within ABA organizations to their advantage. This presentation will highlight how Stay Interviews can be integrated into regular retention practices of ABA organizations and will focus on advantages of Stay Interviews, how to deliver a high-quality Stay Interview, and how to interpret the results to implement positive changes and ultimately increase employee engagement.

What You'll Learn

  1. Explain the advantages of conducting regular Stay Interviews with employees.
  2. Apply the key components of a Stay Interview within your own practice.
  3. Evaluate results obtained from Stay Interviews to improve employee engagement and retention.
