Shinrin-Yoku: Forest Bathing to Reduce Anxiety in Individuals Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders matters because it changes what a BCBA notices when decisions have to hold up in adult services and community participation. In Autism Spectrum Disorders on Shinrin-Yoku: Forest Bathing to Reduce Anxiety in Individuals Diagnosed, for this course, the practical stakes show up in clearer case conceptualization, better instructional targets, and stronger generalization, not in abstract discussion alone.

Shinrin-yoku, literally translated as "forest bathing" has been proven effective in reducing pulse rate and blood pressure and increasing natural killer cell activity. Participants also self-report reductions in anxiety. A shinrin-yoku procedure was performed with three adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder. All showed reductions in pulse rate and perceived anxiety. The potential for the use of shinrin-yoku as a less language-based therapy for anxiety is discussed.
