Join Free →Within the world of work, many tools are available with the goal of fostering a supportive environment stemming from areas within Organizational Behavior Management (OBM). Companies are constantly seeking out opportunities to bring out the best in their employees. However, companies providing ABA services still face barriers such as burnout, turnover, and rising stress within company structures. This workshop seeks to share a perspective to increase employee wellness using current strategies rooted in OBM to analyze employee burnout. Improving employee performance while simultaneously maintaining employee wellness stands to work towards creating a culture where seeking feedback is reinforced and aversive contingencies within the workplace can be minimized. The goal of this workshop is to combine each of the content areas of performance management, pinpointing and analyzing workplace behaviors, and values-based processes to establish a stronger foundation within the organization. With the use of small and large group discussion, participants can gain an understanding of methods to enhance employee experience by incorporating OBM interventions, all while considering both the employee and service recipient perspective.

Erin Herndon is a Chicago-based BCBA currently working within the tech start-up space. Starting off as an intern in the People Experience role, she currently works as a Business Process Consultant at Zendicoded where she operates as a specialist in technology and people processes to bring principles of OBM to the multidisciplinary teams of the tech world. She is also currently a PhD candidate at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology where she is finishing her dissertation in topics related to health, sports and fitness. She is currently a 2023 grant recipient of the ABAI Health Sport & Fitness Grant in student research, seeking to expand the field of behavior analysis within this realm of wellness. Her current OBM experience additionally stems from the Workplace Optimization, Research, & Knowledge lab that she is a part of at The Chicago School where she is currently working on up and coming research projects related to OBM assessments utilized in the work place.
