03Original abstract
The following is a review of the new textbook, An Introduction to Behavior Analysis, written by Madden, Reed, and DiGennaro Reed. The general content of each chapter is discussed and specific strengths and areas for improvement are highlighted. The textbook uses a scaffolding approach to teach increasingly complex content and repetition to promote retention of major concepts. The textbook also provides students with ample opportunities to practice the skills being taught, and engages the reader with relatable examples. Overall, this textbook is a great new option for instructors teaching the “Foundational Knowledge” requirements for undergraduate or early‐stage graduate students in behavior analysis.
