Using Technology Enhanced Natural Environment Instruction to Teach Communication and Social Skills becomes clinically important the moment a team has to turn good intentions into reliable action inside documentation workflows, supervision meetings, treatment planning, and quality review. In Using Technology Enhanced Natural Environment Instruction to Teach Communication and Social Skills, for this course, the practical stakes show up in faster workflow without clinical drift, privacy loss, or weak oversight, not in abstract discussion alone.

Course Description

This presentation will be catered to BCBA's looking to find alternative ways to target social and communication skills for learners with ASD/ID during sessions. This presentation will reveal the recent uptick in using robots to teach social skills and provide an introduction to how to embed technology (i.e., robots, coding) into their social communication programs. Presenters will provide information on common social skills targeted during ABA sessions, how they can be embedded in a session, and ideas on how to increase communication opportunities within a group setting by using technology (e.g., Morning Meeting).

What You'll Learn

  2. Identify one evidence-based practice used during coding and social and communication skill learning.
  3. Identify at least one social skill from an assessment (e.g., VB-MAPP) that can be targeted using a coding curriculum.
