These requirements are designed to help prospective behavior analysts to develop their skills and knowledge and to ensure high-quality services to their clients. However, obtaining the certification is just standing at the start line as a professional (Britton, Crye, & Haymes, 2011). Further and on-going clinical supervision is critical for ongoing professional development (Brodhead, 2015; Turner, 2017; Valentino & Broker, 2023). Beyond the initial required supervision hours, clinical supervision models must be structured to maintain high clinical efficacy as well as to assure continued innovation and challenge to the clinical staff. Creating effective, innovative, and participative models of supervision for behavior analysts is a challenge but not insurmountable (Brodhead, 2015; Valentino, LeBlanc, & Sellers, 2016). This presentation will review pragmatic yet clinically challenging supervision models for BCBAs that are flexible, collaborative, and data-driven approaches that emphasizes individualized support, reflective practice, and ongoing professional development.
