According to the BACB, the nature of supervision must be behavior-analytic in content, structured, and individualized to ensure effective, ethical, and safe development of the supervisee's competencies. This presentation explores how AI can augment the BACB supervision process by supporting BCBAs in delivering more consistent, timely, and individualized guidance to trainees. From automated transcription and feedback analysis to ethics tagging and competency tracking, AI has the power to enhance fidelity and transparency in supervision. However, these opportunities also come with ethical challenges. What are the limits of AI in shaping future clinicians? How do we maintain the integrity of the supervisory relationship while leveraging automation? Are behavior analysts ethically obligated to use tools that improve outcomes, or does reliance on AI risk diluting mentorship? Through the lens of the BACB Ethics Code, this session will examine the boundaries of AI use, highlight use cases where augmentation enhances rather than replaces human judgment, and propose a framework for integrating AI responsibly into supervision practices. Attendees will leave with actionable strategies for incorporating AI tools ethically and effectively, while upholding the core values of behavior analysis.
