General CEU: Spanish - ABA Learning Zone: an early intensive behavioral intervention for young children with autism spectrum disorders pilot program in a nonprofit organization in Puerto Rico

Spanish - ABA Learning Zone: an early intensive behavioral intervention for young children with autism spectrum disorders pilot program in a nonprofit organization in Puerto Rico belongs in serious BCBA study because it shapes whether behavior-analytic decisions stay useful once they leave a clean training example and enter supervision meetings, staff training, clinic systems, and performance review. In Spanish - ABA Learning Zone: an early intensive behavioral intervention for young children, for this course, the practical stakes show up in better performance, lower drift, and more sustainable team development, not in abstract discussion alone.

Course Description

This presentation will provide an overview of the implementation of an early intensive behavioral intervention pilot program designed for young children with autism spectrum disorder in a nonprofit organization in Puerto Rico. Evidence suggests that early childhood experiences play a critical role in the development of language, social skills, and brain development. Likewise, effective early intervention can prevent intellectual disability and other developmental problems. Intensive early intervention programs using Applied Behavior Analysis methods have compelling evidence of their effectiveness, indicating that these programs produce significant, moderate to substantial, and long-lasting improvements in many children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. We created an intensive behavioral intervention program that supports the comprehensive development of children with autism based on principles of Applied Behavioral Analysis and evidence-based practices. A description of the structure, procedures, and implementation process, as well as preliminary implementation outcomes and barriers, will be discussed. The presenter's goal is to shed light on the implementation of this type of intervention in nonprofit organizations to encourage the creation of similar programs to increase accessibility. Instructional level: Basic Learning objectives: At the conclusion of the presentation, participants will be able to: (1) describe the importance of early intensive behavioral intervention for young children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder; (2) describe the recommended components of early intensive behavioral intervention for young children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder; (3) identify early childhood development skills that can be targeted in the context of early intensive behavioral intervention for young children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder; (4) describe the utility of interdisciplinary collaboration in the context of early intensive behavioral intervention for young children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
