Course Description

A regular speaker and attendee at FABA, Dr. Jim Carr is the Chief Executive Officer of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) since 2011, Dr. Jim Carr holds an important position affecting the practices of thousands of behavior analysts, both BCBAs and BCaBAs, and RBTs. One of only two people to have held this position, Dr. Carr has overseen an exponential growth in the profession. Inside Behavior Analysis will explore what he has learned as CEO, where he sees the field evolving, his role as a mentor to other behavior analysts prior to taking this position, and his outside interests, including his talents as an amateur guitarist.

About the Instructor

A past president of FABA (2019) Andrew has long enjoyed writing and is a coauthor of the book QUICK Responses for Reducing Misbehavior and Suspensions: A Behavioral Toolbox for Classroom and School Leaders and the sole author of The Lives of the Silent: Quiet Stories of Courage and Connection. He consults and speaks nationally and internationally, and he continues to pursue research with his colleagues at Florida Institute of Technology where he serves as the Director of Experiential Training. An avid surfer, paddleboarder, and bodysurfer, Andrew enjoys hiking, being in or on the water, as well as playing and watching several sports. Andrew has 2 sons, Preston and Kooper. He enjoys reading, movies, and walking the beach to see and photograph sunrises with his French bulldog, Poppy.
