Drawing from behavioral analysis frameworks, we dissect common patterns observed in nutritional habits, from mindless snacking to emotional eating triggers. By understanding the underlying motivations driving food choices, we gain valuable insights into how behavior shapes our nutritional landscape. From the influence of social norms to the power of marketing tactics, we uncover the multifaceted layers that contribute to our dietary behaviors. Ultimately, "Nourishing Insights" seeks to empower behavioral analysts with the tools to unravel these patterns and enact positive change. Sh*t Behavior Analysts Say Behavior Man is back. "SH*T Behavior Analysts Say" is an engaging and humorous IGNITE presentation that delves into the amusing world of behavior analyst vernacular. This presentation will spotlight the distinctive subgroups within the behavior analyst community, each characterized by their own peculiar linguistic styles. Listen and Aprende? Or Escucha and Learn? Tips for Supervising Across a Language Barrier Florida has it all: all the sun, all the alligators, and all the languages. Although Florida boasts a wide range of cultures and languages, the ratio of multi-lingual BCBAs to RBTs and clients is still concerningly high, and directly impacts access to adequate services across the state. This presentation will include tips and tricks for BCBAs providing supervision when language barriers can interfere with understanding and learning. Can't We All Just Get Along? The current landscape of traditional and social media is a picture of division. Division within our world. Division within our country. Division within our field. We are more alike than we are different. We all practice behavior analysis. While our science teaches us to be skeptical of technologies, we should not be skeptical when it comes to the motivations and/or intensions of those that share those little initials after our names. Do not get sucked into the abyss that is the comment section of your favorite ABA themed post. That is not real life. Real life is in front of you, listening and communicating, in the form of a colleague and a human being with value and purpose. Open your ears and your mind. You may make a friend, instead of an enemy. Cafecito Chronicles: Navigating Miami ABA with Humor and Heart Embark on a journey through the do's and don'ts of working with Hispanic families in Miami. From always accepting abuela's cafecito to mastering the art of ending a session by saying goodbye at least 65 times, we'll explore the unique cultural quirks that make Miami's Hispanic community a joy to work with. Learn the importance of fluent Spanglish and translating ABA terms into Spanish while embracing the humorous side of cultural understanding. ¡Vamonos! Precision Teaching: A Perfect Fit for Private Instructional Personnel in Schools Precision Teaching (PT), originated by Ogden Lindsley, is a data-based approach for accelerating learning. Relying on brief, timed performances of segments of curriculum segments with data plotted on Standard Celeration Charts, PT is an evidence-based practice to improve basic academic and readiness skills. While skill selection and decisions on instructional changes may call for more PT expertise, RBTs can quickly provide the daily timings and practice activities needed. Using PT allows BCBAs to direct the RBT to provide academic skill instruction in a high-accountability format. The question may be, "Why are you not using PT if you supervise RBTs in classrooms?" Adulting 101: Reasons Why You Should Work with Adults Ever wonder why BCBAs are all about working with little ones? Well, hang tight, 'cause this Ignite, brought to you by an almost-30-year-old adult with Autism (yours truly), is here to tell you why grown-ups deserve some love too! Join me as I spill the beans on the perks of being an adult on the spectrum and why BCBAs should be eager to work with us (especially me!). From the quirky bits that spice up life to breaking stereotypes, this presentation's all about why it's cool to kick it with the older crowd! Get ready for a wild ride of laughs, insights, and maybe even a little bragging—it's all part of the deal when you're teaming up with someone as awesome as me!
