Join Free →The field of Applied Behavior Analysis is facing tumultuous discussion regarding ethics, quality, and organizational status (Silbaugh & El Fattal, 2021). Clinical quality at large ABA agencies requires alignment unilaterally from the executive team through the individual provider to be effective. Identifying and adopting a model that aligns with evidence-based practice, safety, compassion, dignity and respect may provide a guiding compass for organizations looking to improve the quality of their services and achieve meaningful outcomes (Sugai & Horner, 2020). While succinct verification of this alignment may be difficult to obtain through behavioral data alone, the social validity and outcomes of these efforts provide essential evidence of successful adoption. This presentation will outline how a nationwide organization has integrated the values of the Practical Functional Assessment (PFA) and Skill Based Treatment (SBT) to develop a Response to Intervention model called Foundations to Care. An overview of the entry-level behavior intervention plan for all clients and the mentorship model used to train clinicians in all components of the Foundations of Care will be provided in addition to the clinical implications of the model and data related to the various components of the model.

How do we include ourselves in the unit of analysis? How do we lead with both evidence and humility? Through his research on reflective practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, and organizational mentorship systems, he's helping behavior analysts include themselves in the equation—examining not just what we do, but who we are as clinicians and how we show up for the people we serve.
