Disrupting the Framework of Inequity & Injustice: An OBM Approach becomes clinically important the moment a team has to turn good intentions into reliable action inside caregiver coaching, home routines, team meetings, and values-sensitive decision making. In Disrupting the Framework of Inequity & Injustice, for this course, the practical stakes show up in better alignment between intervention and the family context in which it must survive, not in abstract discussion alone.

However, behavior analysis has not historically included a large, significant amount of content on social justice and cultural responsiveness. There is agreement that more needs to be done to shed light on the importance of social justice, culture and diversity, and how to affect change in Behavior Analysis. It is important to consider how our own values and beliefs affect our behaviors, including how they impact the systems we work within and the systemic processes that we put in place and/or by which we abide. We must evaluate the learning history of those with whom we work and consider how our own learning history shapes our behaviors at work and in life. Using an Organizational Behavior Management approach, participants will: 1. Operationally define behaviors aligned with culturally humble values. 2. Procedurally define behaviors, processes, policies, and procedures that align with culturally humble values. 3. Discuss an OBM framework (e.g., self-management/reflection, Performance Management, Systems Analysis) to disrupt inequity and injustice in life and ABA practice. 4. Review real-life examples how to disrupt inequity and injustice at the individual, process, and organizational levels.
