General CEU: Introduction to Relational Frame Theory (RFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy/Training (ACT) for School-Based Behavior Analysts

Introduction to Relational Frame Theory (RFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy/Training (ACT) for School-Based Behavior Analysts matters because it changes what a BCBA notices when decisions have to hold up in school teams and classroom routines. In Introduction to Relational Frame Theory (RFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy/Training (ACT) for School-Based Behavior Analysts, for this course, the practical stakes show up in clearer case conceptualization, better instructional targets, and stronger generalization, not in abstract discussion alone.

Course Description

This CE event is designed for Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) who want to learn more about relational frame theory as it relates to behavior and social-emotional functioning and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Dr. Demiri will review the relationship between private events and then review stimulus equivalence and relational frame theory. She will then discuss ACT as a mindfulness-based therapy approach that focuses on helping individuals accept their thoughts and emotions while committing to actions that align with their values. Finally, Dr. Demiri will share an applied example of implementing an ACT-based group in a school setting.
