Course Description

Chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapies offer cancer patients a life-saving treatment option that can also improve their quality of life. However, the full potential of CAR-T therapies to treat patients is hindered by several significant barriers across payer markets (Medicare, Medicare Advantage, commercial). This panel will discuss these challenges, as well as potential policy reforms to reduce payer barriers and ensure broad access across sites of care.

What You'll Learn

  1. Describe the barriers to patient access for CAR-T cell therapies across different payer markets.
  2. Identify challenges faced by Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and commercial payers in covering CAR-T therapies.
  3. Evaluate potential policy reforms to reduce payer barriers and ensure broad access to CAR-T treatments.
