Course Description

In this presentation, Isaac and Dayna will share personal stories that highlight both the challenges and turning points that shaped their journey in behavior analysis, and how those moments connect to the larger conversation around leadership and preparing the next generation for success. We'll examine resilience from a behavioral lens—as a repertoire of learned behaviors, not a fixed trait. Drawing from behavioral science and the work of thought leaders like Angela Duckworth, we'll explore how "grit" and perseverance align with reinforcement principles, and how resilience can be taught, strengthened, and sustained for future success in the field. This presentation will offer practical tools and strategies for leaders to foster resilient teams, including how to reinforce effort over outcomes, support psychological flexibility, and create a workplace culture rooted in psychological safety and growth. We'll discuss how to build repertoires that help professionals respond adaptively to stress, feedback, and change with the goal of creating stronger performance, lowering burnout, and producing better client outcomes.
