Addressing challenging behavior and communication deficits using client-focused interventions becomes clinically important the moment a team has to turn good intentions into reliable action inside language assessment, teaching sessions, caregiver coaching, and natural communication routines. In Addressing challenging behavior and communication deficits using client-focused interventions, for this course, the practical stakes show up in clearer case conceptualization, better instructional targets, and stronger generalization, not in abstract discussion alone.

The second paper will evaluate factors that influence the effectiveness of self-monitoring to reduce stereotypy in children with ASD. The third paper will present an intervention for aggression in children with ASD that incorporates video self-modeling and contingency mapping. A discussion will be provided by Dr. Yanerys Leon.
