JEAB And JABA On The World Wide Web: A Report To Readers (Editorial).
The 1996 editorial gave us free, searchable JEAB and JABA archives—use them.
01Research in Context
What this study did
The editors wrote a short note. They told readers that JEAB and JABA now live on the web.
You could click, search, and read full papers free. No more hunting paper copies.
What they found
There were no data. It was an announcement, not an experiment.
The big news: two URLs that still work today.
How this fits with other research
Laties (2008) picks up the story. That history paper shows the 1996 web launch grew into full open access.
Gold (1993) wanted JEAB and JABA closer. The 1996 site made it real by putting both journals in one search box.
Lerner et al. (2012) later found JEAB abstracts are harder to read than JABA’s. So the 1996 gift of free access matters—practitioners need that extra time to unpack tough language.
Why it matters
You still use those archives every week. When you need a quick JEAB reinforcer curve or a JABA token-economy demo, you skip paywalls. Bookmark both sites today and save one click each time you prep supervision.

03Original abstract
The Journal of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior ( JEAB ) and the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis ( JABA ) have both established home pages on the World Wide Web. Their addresses are: http:www.envmed.rochester.eduwwwrapbehaviorjeabjeabhome.htm http:www.envmed.rochester.eduwwwrapbehaviorjabajabahome.htm An important feature of these pages is a powerful program that permits rapid full‐text searches of a database consisting of the nearly 5,000 abstracts that have accompanied articles published in JEAB since 1958 and in JABA since 1968. An electronic version of a single article from each issue of each journal is now made available soon after the paper edition of the journal appears.
