Show Up and Join the Discussion
Sessions run about an hour and are led by practitioners who are still carrying a caseload. Cameras optional, questions encouraged. RBTs ask some of the best ones.
Get Your Certificate by Email
Your certificate is emailed after the session. Save it somewhere you can find it again, because the version of you who gets audited will not enjoy digging through three years of inbox.
Free RBT CEUs and Professional Development
Every session here is open to RBTs at no cost, and RBTs get the same certificate BCBAs do. Worth being straight with you about what that certificate is and is not, because a lot of sites are not.
The BACB does not require continuing education units to renew an RBT credential. RBT renewal runs on an annual competency assessment, ongoing supervision, and a renewal application. So no, you do not need a stack of CEU certificates to keep your RBT.
Here is why RBTs keep showing up anyway:
- Employers ask for it. Plenty of agencies have their own annual professional development hours, and a dated certificate from an approved session is the cleanest way to document them.
- It makes supervision meetings better. Walking into your supervision hour having already watched a talk on assent, or on pairing, or on why your data sheet keeps getting rejected, changes what that hour can cover.
- It is the cheapest BCBA prep there is. If you are heading toward coursework, sitting in on discussions with practicing BCBAs gets you fluent in how the field actually argues about cases long before you are the one signing the report.
- You are in the room with the people making the decisions. Most free CEU content is a recording talking at you. This is a live discussion, and RBTs are part of it.

The BACB wants at least 4 ethics CEUs per two-year cycle, and ethics hours are usually the priciest to buy. The ethics catalog lists 59 courses, 9 of them free.
Supervising Anyone?
If you supervise trainees or RBTs, 3 of your 32 hours have to be supervision CEUs. The supervision catalog lists 43 courses, 13 of them free.

Are these CEUs really free?
Yes. Every session Behaviorist Book Club runs is free for RBTs, BCaBAs and BCBAs. No subscription, no per-certificate fee, no credit card at registration. We think continuing education should not be a line item you dread every two years.
Do RBTs need CEUs to renew their certification?
No. RBT renewal is built on an annual renewal competency assessment, ongoing supervision, and your renewal application, not on continuing education units. Anyone telling you your RBT will lapse without CEUs is selling something.
So why would an RBT bother earning free CEUs?
Three reasons we hear constantly. Your employer probably has its own annual professional development hours and a dated certificate documents them cleanly. Supervision meetings go further when you arrive already up to speed on the topic. And if you are working toward a BCaBA or BCBA, listening to practicing BCBAs reason through real cases is the cheapest exam prep in the field.
How do I get my CEU certificate?
It is emailed to you after you attend. Keep it. The BACB can ask you to produce certificates during an audit, so the practical move is one folder, named by cycle, that you drop every certificate into the day it arrives.
Can I watch a replay instead of attending live?

How many CEUs does a BCBA need each cycle?
32 continuing education units per two-year recertification cycle. At least 4 of those have to be ethics, and 3 have to be supervision if you supervise trainees or RBTs. The rest can be general content. If you are hunting a specific category, the ethics CEUs for BCBAs and supervision CEUs for BCBAs catalogs break them out for you.
What topics do the free sessions cover?
Assessment, behavior intervention, verbal behavior, parent training, data analysis, ethics, supervision, and professional development. Each one is anchored to a clinically relevant book or a practitioner presentation rather than a slide deck someone recorded in 2017 and never touched again.
