Review of Interview-Informed Synthesized Contingency Analysis Outcome Data Using a Modified Behavior Skills Training Model for BCBAs becomes clinically important the moment a team has to turn good intentions into reliable action inside case conceptualization, intervention design, staff training, and literature-informed problem solving. In Review of Interview-Informed Synthesized Contingency Analysis Outcome Data Using a Modified Behavior Skills Training Model for BCBAs, for this course, the practical stakes show up in stronger conceptual consistency and better translational decision making, not in abstract discussion alone.

The purpose of the current study was to train BCBAs to implement practical functional assessment (PFA) practices with young children with challenging behavior. The model leveraged behavior-analytic training procedures including self-paced learning, written protocols, virtual real-time distance coaching, and feedback. Data will be presented for 53 individual behavioral assessments that used a PFA model (open-ended interview and interview-informed synthesized contingency analysis (IISCA)). The primary dependent variable was the practitioner's ability to accurately implement the IISCA and achieve strong control in the analysis. Accurate implementation and strong control were achieved in 98.1% of cases. The IISCA ran an average of 11.1 minutes (range, 6 - 45 minutes). Supporting secondary dependent variables included procedural integrity and interobserver agreement were assessed and maintained at acceptable levels. Along with results of the current study, the presenters will discuss strengths, limitations, and future directions for competency-based functional analysis training at large ABA service organizations.

With twelve years of clinical experience in a clinic-based setting and nine years of experience as a BCBA, it is a passion of mine to bring practical application of highly technical concepts to BCBAs. My focus is on assessing and treating severe problem behavior by use of many procedures including the Practical Functional Assessment, Skills Based Treatment, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, PEAK Relational Training System, Early Start Denver Model, and others.
