Course Description

Part of Supervision Reimagined's Skills Series, this interactive workshop focuses on the messier parts of parent training. Parent training and collaboration can make or break treatment success, and yet most BCBA's don't receive concrete training on how to effectively work with parents, especially when there is resistance, avoidance or emotional reactivity. This workshop will dive into real world challenges of parent training with a focus on skill-building and supervision. Participants will explore high-stakes scenarios, reframe communication pitfalls and practice compassionate responses that prioritize connection, collaboration and clinical outcomes. If you've ever thought, "I was blamed for something that wasn't my fault", felt frustrated because your recommendations fell on deaf ears, or thought "I don't even know where to start with this family", this training is definitely for you. For this workshop, we'd love to hear from you!! We want real life scenarios, questions, struggles and concerns you've had working with parents. Remember, keep it confidential, and we'll make sure to keep it professional – fill out this anonymous Google Form so your questions can be addressed!
