Communication, Teamwork, Patience: Overcoming Unique Challenges as an ABA Practitioner becomes clinically important the moment a team has to turn good intentions into reliable action inside language assessment, teaching sessions, caregiver coaching, and natural communication routines. In Communication, Teamwork, Patience: Overcoming Unique Challenges as an ABA Practitioner, for this course, the practical stakes show up in clearer case conceptualization, better instructional targets, and stronger generalization, not in abstract discussion alone.

However, not all programming goes according to plan. It is in that adversity that we must always fall back on our research, consult with our peers, and dive into the Cooper book. Today's symposium will consist of three talks that all overcame unique challenges. The first talk used a systematic approach to reduce a client's severe attachment to a stuffed animal. The second talk emphasized collaboration with all parties to improve toilet training outcomes. The final talk relied on caregiver and client feedback to adjust communication modalities from an AAC device to sign language. When encountering challenges related to programming, it's important to evaluate limitations and exhaust all options to ensure appropriate client outcomes.
