Collaborative Caregiver Consultation: Providing Group Services Using a Values-Based Approach belongs in serious BCBA study because it shapes whether behavior-analytic decisions stay useful once they leave a clean training example and enter caregiver coaching, home routines, team meetings, and values-sensitive decision making. In Providing Group Services Using a Values-Based Approach, for this course, the practical stakes show up in better alignment between intervention and the family context in which it must survive, not in abstract discussion alone.

Rather than focusing on the frequency of services, careful attention should be made to evaluating the quality of care provided to caregivers. As a result, the effects of caregiver consultation can directly contribute to the efficacy of an intervention and overall treatment. This presentation will provide helpful tips for conducting group caregiver intervention, provided in-person or via telehealth, including a model for how to use a values-based approach. We will discuss behavior analytic measures and methods to evaluate progress. The presentation will include a review of common barriers to providing caregiver intervention and will discuss a strategies to work with families when an issue arises, rather than delaying or abandoning treatment. The ACT Matrix will be referenced; prior knowledge is recommended, but not required.
