Technological developments can empower practitioners, but ethical protections and realistic implementation strategies are needed. Clinicians, educators, and AI developers will address practice- and research-based AI applications in ABA in this panel session. Predictive analytics for therapy hour allocation (Cox & Sosine, 2023), AI-supported vocalization classification for early intervention (Baird et al., 2023), and robot-assisted social skills training for children with autism using personalized machine learning models will be discussed. AI-based 3D modeling for emotion recognition will also be discussed to support therapy (Marinoiu et al., 2023). The panel will examine AI system engineering, including data collection, algorithm development, and behavioral intervention planning. In alignment with the BACB Ethics Code (2022), panelists will explore practical approaches to maintaining client dignity (Code 2.06), securing informed consent for data use (Code 2.11), and ensuring responsible use of technology (Code 2.09). Recommendations from Jennings and Cox (2022) will guide discussions on algorithmic bias, data security, and culturally responsive implementation (Code 1.07). ABA professionals will walk away with actionable strategies for collaborating with AI engineers and ethically integrating these tools into clinical practice.
