Classroom Math Interventions for Struggling Learners

This cluster looks at ways teachers and aides use short, fun computer or small-group math lessons to help kids who find math hard, including those with intellectual disabilities. Studies show that quick daily practice, starting with easy problems the child likes, can raise basic math scores in as little as five to eight weeks. BCBAs can copy these simple drills, track the data, and adjust the pace so every student keeps growing without getting bored or stuck. The papers also remind us to watch each learner’s IQ and prior skills to pick the right level of challenge.
