Course Description

This presentation will outline the essential steps for a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to advance to the role of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Advancing from an RBT to BCBA is a significant milestone, offering new career opportunities and the ability to make a wider impact in the field of applied behavior analysis. The journey involves three steps: (1) graduate education; (2) supervised experience; and (3) successful completion of the BCBA exam. We will cover the key areas including a detailed overview of academic qualifications, an explanation of the required supervised experience hours which build essential skills and confidence, strategies for preparing for the BCBA exam, a review of the increased responsibilities and expectations that come with the new role according to the BACB's ethical code, and a discussion on what you can do with a BCBA credential along with the importance of staying current in the field. We will conclude with a Q&A session to address common challenges and clarify any uncertainties. By the end of this session, you will have a clear roadmap to navigate your way to becoming America's Next Top BCBA!
