The Impact Of Treatment Intensity On Outcomes is the kind of topic that looks straightforward until it collides with the speed, ambiguity, and competing demands of case conceptualization, intervention design, staff training, and literature-informed problem solving. In The Impact Of Treatment Intensity On Outcomes, for this course, the practical stakes show up in stronger conceptual consistency and better translational decision making, not in abstract discussion alone.

This companion to the 3rd edition of CASP's Applied Behavior Analysis Practice Guidelines for the Treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder provides the generally accepted standards of care (GASC) for ABA services for young autistic children, an overview of the existing literature on treatment intensity, new benchmark data for outcomes, guidance on how to evaluate new studies and meta-analyses, and commentary on two recently published studies. We will describe how GASC are created and how they support practitioners in providing evidence-based care and engaging in advocacy work with caregivers, funders, and other stakeholders. Learning Objectives Attendees will be able to identify characteristics of the process for creating GASC. Attendees will be able to identify how scope and intensity impact the effectiveness of behavioral treatment services.
