General CEU: Advancements in Technology: A Deep Dive into the Interplay of Practice Management and Quality Metrics

The intersection of practice management software and quality of service metrics represents one of the most consequential developments in behavioral healthcare delivery over the past decade. As ABA organizations scale, the manual systems that worked in smaller practices — paper data sheets, spreadsheet-based billing, ad hoc scheduling — fail to support the consistent, high-quality service delivery that clients require and that regulatory frameworks demand.

Course Description

Effective healthcare delivery is contingent upon seamless access to services and high-quality care. In this presentation, we will explore the synergistic impact of integrating practice management software and quality of service data in behavioral healthcare. Practice management software is a comprehensive tool for streamlining administrative and clinical workflows, optimizing resource allocation, and enhancing overall operational efficiency. Quality of service data, in the form of treatment fidelity, is a key metric in assessing the implementation of evidence-based practice, adherence to care protocols, and real-time monitoring of staff performance and patient care. We will provide case examples of how integrating practice management and quality of service data become powerful mechanisms for assuring access to services, seamless coordination of care, strategic resource allocation, and other data-based decision-making that benefit the patients and organizations. After attending this presentation, attendees will be able to 1. State the importance of practice management and quality of service data in ABA service delivery. 2. Develop a plan of action to improve, measure, and monitor the quality of service at their organization. 3. Explain the integration of practice management and quality service data and how it can be visually represented for organizational decision-making.

What You'll Learn

  1. Describe how organizational behavior management principles can be applied to improve staff performance and service delivery.
  2. Explain the core principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and their application within behavior analytic practice.
